Short Bio & Position

I am a Software Engineering researcher and Professor at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), Brazil, and Head of the RESET Lab. My research focuses on empirical software engineering, software evolution and maintenance, human factors, intelligent development tools, and the interplay between software systems and data-intensive environments. PUC-Rio (2021), following my MSc (2019), and hold a BSc in Software Engineering from UFC (2016), developed in cooperation with Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.

My work investigates how developers interact with evolving systems, automation pipelines, security practices, and emerging AI-based tools. I lead and collaborate on research initiatives involving large-scale mining of software repositories, CI/CD security automation, software quality improvement, and AI-assisted development workflows. My research has been published in premier international venues, including ICSE, ICSME, and MSR. I actively collaborate with researchers across Brazil and internationally, including partnerships in the United Kingdom and ongoing research engagement with U.S. institutions.

I have contributed to both academic and industry-driven projects, bridging empirical evidence with practical impact in software engineering.
